Are Mr. Rumbold and Mrs. Peacock having an affair? Relations between the Peacocks are strained; Mrs. Peacock thinks Captain Peacock is having an affair because his behavior at the holiday Christmas party. In revenge, Mrs. Peacock takes a job as Mr. Rumbold's secretary and soon word gets around that the two of them are getting it on. Capt. Peacock is upset (he claims he's innocent, THIS time) and tries to find out the truth, first by peeking at the keyhole, then having Mr. Humphries plant a microphone pen in Mr. Rumbold's office. When these attempts fail, Captain Peacock decides to go outside on the ledge of the building and snap a photo of them in Mr. Rumbold's office! But while outside, he freaks out and Mrs. Slocombe ends up on the ledge with him. The two of them end up trapped outside on the ledge--Mrs. Slocombe gets back inside through the loo window while Mr. Rumbold and Mrs. Peacock discover Captain Peacock outside! She thinks he's going to commit suicide, tells him not to, and they reconcile.
