Let's face it: the service in the Canteen has never really been up to par, based upon the staff's regular griping about it. However, this time, the staff wants to do something about it--they feel that they can do the job better! Of course, when Mr. Grace learns about this, he thinks it's a really good idea and the staff finds themselves taking over Canteen duties. Mr. Humphries finds an animal of some sort hanging in a meat locker, Mrs. Slocombe contemplates the tons of dirty dishes, and all this time, there is a toad on the loose! The staff pulls together (with a little behind-the-scenes help from local take-out restaurants) and impress everyone with their efforts. However, when they realize that they are losing money rather than making it, they swallow their pride and apologize.
