Grace Brothers decides to cancel the staff's pay raise, and no one is happy about it. They try to get themselves fired, but Mr. Rumbold refuses to sack anyone because he'd be unable to replace them because no one would work for such little pay. Meanwhile, a Japanese corporation wants to take over Grace Brothers. Afraid of losing their jobs, they decide to get help from the Prime Minister. While waiting at No. 10, Mrs. Slocombe takes a misrouted phone call from Ronald Reagan and starts praising him for his movies; Mr. Humphries is found passing on style tips to the PM. Meanwhile, a monkey has escaped from Pets and is running around. The staff returns to Grace Brothers and are meeting their potential new Japanese employers whey learn that the missing monkey has savaged one of the Japanese buyers!
