Season 1 - Episode 2 Mr. Humphries seems to have survived the night well...I guess he didn't realize everything that comes along with having the cook's old bedroom :) The night doesn't pass as well for everyone else as they're not used to the noises (and mice!) that come with country living. Mrs. Slocombe goes to arouse Mr. Humphries, where she learns that Mr. Humphries did not spend the night alone. Mrs. Slocombe promises that it will go no further than the bedroom...so of course, she runs right down to the kitchen and fill everyone in, but Mavis beats her to it. After a cozy breakfast in the kitchen (where Mr. Humphries is put on the spot), a little pipe smoking, and a little Peacock/Lovelock flirting, the staff still has to decide what to do about the Manor. They decide to try to make a go of running the B&B. The first order of business: recruiting staff. Second order of business: sawing some wood for the boiler to get some hot water going. Mr. Humphries and Mavis tackle the in-and-outs of sawing wood. Meanwhile, Captain Peacock takes Mrs. Slocombe into the village by horse trap: romantic to her, not so romantic to him. An abandoned trap is blocking the path and Mrs. Slocombe goes to move it. The strange horse doesn't like this and takes off...with her on it! The remaining staff has gotten a few replies to their advert...they don't sound like the best of the lot, though! Meanwhile, Mrs. Slocombe and Captain Peacock have been released from jail, but have to go back to court! Quote: Previous episode :: Next episode |
