Sit Out
Season: 8
First Shown: 30 April 1981
Bad weather is making for poor sales this week, but Mr. Rumbold thinks that it's the staff's sales technique that's causing no sales to come in. He holds an impromptu course for them and decides to try Mr. Humphries out as Floorwalker, an idea that Captain Peacock is vehemently against. While acting out play sales scenarios, the staff start fighting among themselves and Mr. Grace, seeing this, decides to move the staff to the bargain basement. The staff decides to go on strike and have a sit-in on the roof of Grace Brothers. In order to attract attention to their plight, they try chanting slogans, then painting on the side of the wall, and at last a paper dart made by the Mr. Humphries. Mr. Rumbold comes up to reason with them but gets trapped up there as well. Things get worse when the bargain basement goes on fire! A fireman comes to rescue them, and of course, it's the one Mr. Humphries accidentally sent a love letter to when he was first learning the art of paper darts!
